Getting Started
Here is an Excel Template to get you started. It has the columns you need setup for you. Just download it and put your students in.
CAUTION - Things to be aware of...
- DO NOT rearange the first five columns. The columns are in a specific order. If you rearrange them, they will not work properly.
- You CAN add your own columns to the right. We just need the first five columns at the begining and in that order.
- Disabling Student Accounts - Row full of *** - All students you put under this row will be DISABLED!! This is for turning off accounts for students who have left or dropped the class.
- DO NOT set an Excel password. We don't support passworded documents at this time
- Import Classes Vs. Classes - The Import Classes field is where you list classes students should be enrolled in. Any other Classes field is for your own use.
- Format of Import Classes - Use commas and list each class you want the student enrolled in. (e.g. CSE101, CSE102, CSE103)
- Simple Vs. Complex - There are two example sheets. The simple sheet is all you need. Just put your information into those columns. If you would like to keep more information on your students you can add columns to the right and add any information you want. The complex work sheet is an example of a sheet with additional information.
Fields
- User ID The id number of the student: e.g. 3165135
- Name The name of the student: e.g. Smith, Bob
- Password The password you want to assign the student. If you leave this blank and it will generate one for you.
- Import Classes This is a list of classes you want the student enrolled in. Create a list seprated by commas: e.g. CSE101,ACCT110,MATH090
- Program This sets the program you want the student enrolled in. This can be used to place students in specific OU containers in Active Directory.
